6:19 pm	[Locked] Korean. Red Squad's got five points over Green Squad. Greens, you guys better step it up or you're totally gonna get eaten during the zombie apocalypse. Remember, you get points for weapons, training, transport, and medical. Each squad must be coordinated, because I'm hearing rumors that Fearless Leader will cue FAST ZOMBIES this year. 5:46 pm	[All] In case anyone is wondering, this is Kevin Yan Kuan, my call for Chuen's (and thus Meiran, Leishun, and Xiaoli's) Daddy. Who's surprised that Xiaoming never remarried after having THAT? Not me~~~ Chuen takes after dad in more ways than one, but he got his mother's poofy lips. I doubt that Captain T'ung had tattoos like the picture (Although he may have gotten a few in order to complement the impressive scars collected during a lifetime of monster fighting. Ooh la la.), but he damn sure had the gorgeous hair. Chuen would have it too if he didn't have to spend so much time out among the Normals instead of back home in the Xuan lands being a classic soldier with a hot topknot. This time of year is an important one for Xuan, as one would expect. The journals have been blathering away about Valentine's and Chinese New Year, but the Xuan aspect lies in this: the wards they place around the psychic pit and other sensitive areas have to be replaced during the celebrations, all the rituals must be performed en masse, and all the nasties that come out to play have to be kept away from the complex proper while all of this is going on. That takes manpower. Unfortunately, any sort of evil committed in the outside world has a reverberation that goes straight to the psychic pit. Makes the pit stronger. Enrages it. Evil or discord committed in a geographically close location is particularly potent (Hi, China. Hi, Korea.). This year has not been a good year for manpower, particularly of the inexperienced kind. The Xuan are losing their youngest soldiers without gaining any new children- the marriage contract has essentially outlawed marriage for the past several years, so even the boys who made it through the three-year service period cannot marry their sweethearts, and it is absolutely unheard of for the Xuan to have children out of wedlock. Also, the expected increase in Shinino numbers has not occurred. The Heir might be "married," but she has no husband and no growing child to be the Heir after her, when all Xuan belief dictated that she would be (at the very least) five months' with child. The current Head is growing weaker every day. These will be interesting times. Now I'm off to German class. :D Current Mood: chipper (Comment on this)

9:00 am	[All] It is 9:00am on a snowy Saturday morning. I have had a long, hot bath that featured multiple Lush products: Ocean Scrub Sultana soap Jungle conditioner (no shampoo this morning because I used Big shampoo yesterday, and my hair's on a three-day cycle) Each Peach massage bar as soon as I got out, And now I have Cupcake on my face. :) Soon, there will be cereal and something hot to drink. 5:57 pm	Colon, frown-y bracket. : ( graymary, I would just like for you to know that you are wonderful. This week has has been an experience in OFFENDED CRANKINESS for me, but the Lush soaps and delicious teas you gave me for the birthday have made it tolerable... Especially the Yogi tea Calm. I love it. It soothes my throat when everything else makes it raspy. Seriously. My voice is an octave lower than it normally is, and performing customer service phone calls all day has not been helping, especially when the providers inevitably ask me to repeat myself. La la la~ Plus I couldn't go to sleep last night because every position I chose meant I couldn't breathe... The stoppage is in my lower throat below the jawline, right where everything bends... I am SO looking forward to a cup of hot tea (and possibly a yogurt smoothie if I can stir my butt towards the kitchen) and an afternoon nap. Still not much with the sniffles, though, so it must have to do with the yelling I did last Saturday. I don't regret either the NCRF volunteering (in the rain) or the steampunk party at all! By the way: NCRF party on October the 17th. It's a little more local than the Faire site, it's open to the public, it's indoors, and it's a masquerade that doesn't take itself too seriously. 9:15 am	Today is my apartment complex's pool party. Yay! There are going to be blow-up bouncy toys, food, a raffle, and (my personal favorite) the giant bouncy waterslide where you can RACE PEOPLE. It starts at 2:00-5:00pm, so that's an interesting afternoon in the works. Only problem is, I've got a time slot for an oil change at 3... More interesting an afternoon than I'd hoped for. Oh well. 6:33 pm	[Open: All, and I do mean all.] Today the work computer tried to eat my Moulin Rouge 2 CD. It is not allowed to do that. It was not successful, though I'm probably not letting it have that CD again no matter how much I want to hear Satine's rendition of "The Show Must Go On." Damn, damn, damn. I am glad the weekend is here, but I am also reminded that my birthday is in less than two weeks and if I want to arrange my little dream party, I'd better get on it... But I'd rather do precisely nothing over the weekend rather than spruce up my home to a level where I can entertain in a Grand Fashion(TM).
